Yep, haven’t updated in a while. Mainly because the only internet is at work and it’s a little awkward posting on one’s blog in a cramped space.

But for those who want to see some pics, they are all here, in my gallery.

Other than that, Salsa is here and I’m training with the Samoan Premier League guys and may make their team when the season starts. Yes, that’s right, I could be playing in the top flight.

Scholes has just announced his retirement. Wow, this is another of the great players that I grew up watching. One more confirmation, if needed, that we are getting old.

It’s true that he hasn’t featured too much in Man Utd’s 19th league title, and indeed he was justly a mere late substitute in their loss against Barcelona in the Champions League final. But it’s still a bit sad to see another one of your childhood’s great players go.

I thought the Champions League final was won very convincingly by Barcelona. But I still can’t bring myself to like them too much. Sometimes their passing just bores me. Having said that, I would love Liverpool to be as good as them.

Liverpool dew in the 102nd minute. 1-1 to Arsenal. Even though Arsenal scored a penalty after the 90th minute already. Let’s all laugh at Arsenal and how crap they are. Even though Liverpool had two youth team full backs in their defense.

Liverpool vs Man Utd…Usually these big matches are lacklustre affairs with both sides more firey than flairey. But last night’s match up between Liverpool and Man Utd was certainly worth watching. That turn and dribble around 3 players by Suarez to setup the first goal…well I think we have another star here.

SIGH for everything else though

Need to be rich. And Torres is gone. At least I still play him FM2011. He’s playing shit though and Liverpool are playing better now. Even though Stevie G (rap for me) was heart broken when Torres departed. Needed to be a pro footballer.

So Hodgson is out. Everyone saw this coming. But Liverpool are so far up shit creek that it will take more than Dalglish to solve. But they should be too good to get relegated, although they are currently 12th and 4 points off the relegation zone! 🙁

You would think where there is Gerrard, Torres, Reina and even Joe Cole, there is hope. Come on, please stay in the Premiere League.

Ah, my fellow sigh meisters, there are quite a few things to write about in H.T’s world of football:

1) MEGA SIGH!! Mcghees has lost their first game of the season, going down 6-5 to Dirk’s Digglers in a tightly contested affair. The lost was mainly due to dodgy keeping on the night and somewhat poor defending and a bit of bad luck with Rob doing his best Raph impersonation and Raph being busy with work so he can’t come. Still, we should be set to make the semis and then choke in the finals once again in our quest for Div1 promotion.

2) Ultimate SIGH!! Bayern Munich lost against Schalke last week 2-0, apparently from looking at the high lights we weren’t bad, but we did waste heaps of chances and Neuer (the Schalke+Germany GK) made heaps of saves. This loss still leaves us lightyears behind Dortmund in terms of the championship and the best we can hope for is probably 2nd and ECL qualification. We did win against St pauli over the weekend but that’s expected, with 1 more game to go against stuttgart before the winter break we’re currently sitting in 5th.

3) Ultimate YAY!! Schweinsteiger just announced that he will extend his contract with Bayern till 2016, which means him, Lahm (best WB in the world), Badstuber and Mueller and Ribery are all staying till 2016. This will provide us with a good platform to grow for the next few seasons, provided the management buys us a new youngish GK, a world class CB and a striker that can score (Dzeko? Tevez? Torres?). But the core of the team is set, provided Toni Kroos stays and keeps improving.

Think that’s enough  sighing for now. Until next time~!

I listen regularly to World Football Phone In, on BBC 5Live. It’s a great show with lots of people around the world calling in talking about football and tangential issues with a panel of really good football journalists.

Anyway Tim Vickery was talking about families of Brazilian footballers in Europe and how displacement affects their kids. Apparently a lot of the kids grow up in a sort of no man’s land, people who don’t fit in any culture completely. Tim ends that discussion by commenting how those kids who are born or grow up outside the country their parents were from do get an advantage in terms of bilingualism but there is a worry that they are in no man’s land.

I feel like that sometimes. Not truly Aussie and definitely not wholly Chinese.

My first post here…and it’s a bloody uber sigh.

Last night, the McGhee’s Revenge (my weekly wednesday indoor team) lost their 2nd consecutive grand final, falling 2-1 to Purple Patch. We defended pretty well (apart from my 2 lapses that led to 2 goals, *MEGA SIGH*) but we also missed a few chances that would have put us in front when we were deadlocked at 1-1.

So in the end, it wasn’t to be, and Mcghees continue on with the Choker tag on their shoulder. It is a disappointing end to a season where we had high hopes of moving to div 1, but for the time being we will still be in div 2.

After catching a glimpse of the 2 finalists in div 1 after our game last night, maybe it isn’t a bad thing.
